| Lawmakers deny Moret raise amid cuts Gov. Bobby Jindal's economic development secretary says he's not willing to take a huge pay cut to work for the state. The position pays $245,000, but Stephen Moret was poised to make twice that much in his former job with the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce. Moret was looking for a $75,000 pay raise, but some lawmakers say they can't agree to that while making cuts to projects in their own districts. |
