Why should you care about this autism center? The center is planned for research, treatment and resources for children all over Louisiana. When I asked why Shreveport was chosen for the location, I was told this area has the most autistic children in the state. Nationwide, autism is exploding. A child is diagnosed every 20 minutes, with a rate of 1 in 150 children. One in 85 will be boys.
