| 2 dead in separate pedestrian accidents Mon, 30 Jun 2008 08:51:00 EST UNDATED (AP) _ State Police and Natchitoches Police are investigating accidents involving pedestrians. Troopers say a fatal crash involving one vehicle and a pedestrian happened Sunday on Louisiana Highway 1240 in Grant Parish. The victim was identified as 29-year-old James R. Miller of Montgomery. Trooper say Miller was lying in the roadway at the time of the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene. In Natchitoches, police are investigating a pedestrian accident involving a 16-month-old child. Police say 18-year-old Andrew Thompson of Cloutierville was leaving the home of his girlfriend's grandmother when he felt a bump. Thompson got out of his SUV and found his girlfriend's 16-month-old niece laying on the driveway. The child was transported to the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center where she died. Thompson told officers that the last time he saw the child, she was inside the house. |
